About Jolaine

I’m Jolaine Frizzell, an art advisor and curator based in Dubai since 2015. I founded Ivy Advisory to support artists, institutions, and collectors through strategic planning, mentorship, and cultural programming tailored to the region’s evolving creative landscape.

With over 16 years of experience in the visual arts, I’ve led galleries in Zurich, London, and Dubai and collaborated with institutions such as 421 Arts Campus, Dubai Culture, and Tashkeel. My work encompasses artist development, curatorial strategy, and cross-sector partnerships — from exhibitions to large-scale initiatives designed to strengthen the broader arts ecosystem.

Alongside this, I regularly mentor emerging talent and lead professional development workshops, including for 421, and Jameel Arts Centre’s Career Days. I also support institutions with executive recruitment and strategic planning, helping to shape teams and programs that have long-term cultural impact.

Most recently, I’ve been exploring the intersection of AI and the arts, moderating panels and contributing to public conversations on how digital tools are transforming creative practice and cultural production.
